About Anja Aniere
Anja Aniere is a policy and organizing professional who builds coalitions and campaigns to advance public health and environmental protections. As National Policy and Organizing Manager at Safer States, she helps drive state-based policy campaigns that protect communities from toxic chemicals and plastics.
Before joining Safer States, Anja worked with the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network, advancing policy priorities across Washington, DC, Maryland, and Delaware. Her advocacy contributed to reforms around harmful medical debt collection practices in Delaware and expanded insurance coverage for prostate cancer screenings in Washington D.C. She has also supported political and issue-based campaigns nationwide.
Anja holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Maryland. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling and watching films from the Criterion Collection with her cat, Anastasia.
